After two years at the National Academy of Science in Washington, DC, I decided to escape life “inside the beltway” for a career in minor league baseball. Honestly, there’s just nothing like being on the field at game time on a warm summer evening. It was during three seasons for teams in Jamestown, NY and South Bend, IN that I began my journey toward the customer. I was fortunate to work with colleagues dedicated to understanding our customers in order to craft the ideal fan experience. Four years later I said goodbye to The Famous Chicken and enrolled in the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. My typical approach to case studies began, “Well, has anyone talked to the customer?” After receiving my M.B.A. I accepted a position as a research and brand strategist for Yamamoto Moss where I managed and conducted research studies that informed the development of marketing collateral and brand strategies across multiple industries. In January 2003, I decided to bring my diverse background and agency experience to clients of my own. I find myself at home with all kinds of customers in a variety of settings, and possess a natural curiosity for many products and services whether business to business or business to consumer.
